Interior redesigned
The interior of the A-Class provides a new feeling of spaciousness with the main unique feature being the new design of the dashboard. There is no visual discontinuity on this dashboard as the wing-shaped main body extends from one door to the other. The turbine-look air vents highlight the free-standing widescreen cockpit, achieving a more sporty look. The two front seats have features from higher models such as the S-Class, these include seat climate control, a massage function and a multicontour seat. The 3-spoke steering wheel has been redesigned, as well as the door handles, centre console and the seats.

Inspired by aviation
The world of aviation has inspired aspects of this new model, for example the five round air vents have a new turbine look and the finely designed air vanes positioned in a circular arrangement create the impression of a jet aircraft turbine. In one equipment line the vent surround is colour-accentuated at the depth of the vent geometry, giving the impression of an afterburner. The air vents in the middle are driver-oriented, accentuating the sportiness of the interior.

Digitalised dashboard and display system
The dashboard is split into two 3D horizontal sections. The lower section is visually separated from the main body of the dashboard with a floating effect, this is enhanced by ambience lighting (optional). Here you will find the turbine-look air vents and the completely free-standing widescreen display.

Cockpit lighting
The interior lighting is powered by long lasting, energy-saving LED technology and there are effects that can be activated individually. There are more colour options available for the ambience lighting, the colour changes allow an avantgarde lighting display which is composed into ten colour worlds.

S-Class type comfort
Computer-based comfort simulation was used for the first time when developing the seats for this model, along with heated seats, climate control and the multicontour seat package as mentioned earlier. There is a fan in each seat cushion which air is taken in through, this flows through the seat structure and is then vented downwards to the rear, creating a pleasant flow of air.

Improved visibility
Slimming down pillars and claddings has allowed the vehicle to reduce obscured areas by 10% from the preceding model in an effort to improve all-round visibility. Exterior mirrors have been placed on the door outer panel instead of in the mirror triangle to also help achieve this.

Spacious centre console
The tray in the centre console has been enlarged to fit more items, such as a smartphone, wallet, keys or a garage door opener. The cup holder can now accommodate bigger bottles, mugs and cans up to 0.5 litres.
